So I was thinking about this old-old skirt I had from senior year of high school, and I thought I could wear it as a strapless dress. I grabbed 'er out of the bag! (Side note: the only thing left now is a striped button down and a couple of headbands.)

“I like to knit and crochet. You have to have something to take the edge off,I am not an actor, but I always have to stay busy. I don't know what to do with myself if I have a day to relax. Yesterday I went to Central Park to nap, but spent most of the time crocheting!
and as an actor there's either a lot of downtime or no downtime, and you have to
stay used to being busy.”
Lalalalalaloooove Zooey Deschanel. She is gorgeous! We should get together and crochet, and maybe she will let me borrow some of her super rad, stylish clothes. If I couldn't be me, I would be her!

I am working on a new project, and Mr. Kitten got a major paw grab of the skein of yarn I was using so I gave him the leftover piece o' crap failure project to play with. As you can see, I actually created an incredible cat toy. In the end, the twine filet crochet disaster was a cat toy success!
Hope to have a fabulous new dress to show you this week! Side note, I got my Polaroid film today in the mail. I guess it would help if my Polaroid camera would arrive too!

Founded upon love, the Krochet Kids now have 10 Ugandan women in their
Krochet Program who not only learn how to knit, but receive a reliable salary
and are involved in a financial education program that teaches them the aspects
of small business management.
The quality beanies come in a variety of styles and colors, but all of
the wool and acrylic-blend hats bare the handwritten name of the women who
stitched it and a "Love Africa" tag. Recently the non-profit team added a
collection of tees and tank tops to their lineup, showing off the logo "I Africa
Side note: if the ladies are learning how to knit... why is it called "Krochet Kids?" I just went to the Krochet Kids site, and it says:
Those chosen for the program are trained in the skill of crochet and thenNew side note: how is it so hard to confuse knit with crochet? Particularly if you are writing an article on it?!

I thought nothing could be cuter for a newbie than a monkey hat. There are plenty of those on the Internet if you do an image search, but I wanted to make up my own pattern. I decided to use the yarn and colors that I used for the owl hat I made for myself since I thought that came out perfect. I have only ever made one hat for a child, and that hat fit my newborn niece for about one day. Literally, I gave it to her a few weeks after her birth, and it barely fit. See pics here. In order to prevent that from happening again, I used this hat size chart to estimate the circumference of a hat for a baby age 6 - 12 months. Plus, by the time he is wearing it, it should be wintery out. I used one of the beanies I made for Iron Martin to figure out the ratio of circumference to length. It is hard to envision what the hat will look like on a baby so I just hope hope hope it looks good! Here is a pic of my stuffed monkey modelling the Monkey Hat.

I came up with what I thought was a stroke of pure genius: take a dress out of my Salvation Army bag, cut it into pieces, and crochet it into an amazing clutch, like the ones I have blogged about here and here.
Here is the story of this failed experiment in pictures..
First, I tried several times to crochet the clutch in rounds, like the purse I have mentioned here.
The rounds weren't working. The ribbons were fraying and tearing apart. I tried to crochet in rows, and it just looked terrible.
