Craftin Season!

Ah at long last it's finally cooled off to a brisk 78 degrees! To celebrate the beginning of craftin season, here's Tim Gunn announcing he "prefers the wooly balls":
BAHA! Ps. How hilarious was it when Casanova was like, "I love table clothes," and Lifetime was like, "2 Mins ago: clip of Tim telling the cast that the judges don't like table clothes."

Just catchin up on the Thurs night TV that I missed when I was Jay-Z big pimpin at the Nike WBF event.

Final thoughts: Honey Moon + mac & cheese + 3 Muskateer bar = amazing. Being this invested in Jersey Shore = awkward(/amazing?).

Next stop: Bethenney.

Auf Wiedersehen!

N is for Gnome

Well, hello there! I don't have too many updates here, but I just wanted to check in and say hello there.

First, I started one fun little project. I love a summer heat wave, but of all the fun things to do in a summer heat wave, sitting on a leather couch in 101 degree heat crocheting is not one of them... so I don't have much to show for it.
Second, Mindy got me this super awesome Scrabble necklace! I LOOOVE it!!! But what is the N for? Nixon, maybe? Or maybe NYC? That works for me!

As promised, I am going to make her a fun crochet giftie in return. Any ideas??
Finally, I just thought I would share my freak feet with the world. Just when my right foot injury is getting manageable, I developed a painful bunion on my left! Awesome!!! Freak feet rule!

You can play the game they have in People mag - can you spot the difference between these feet??
Anyways, hope your summer is fun! Feel free to hit me up with any fall project ideas. I am thinking more little things, like necklaces & hairbands. Chat you soon!

Crocheted Sunhat

Remember the ordeal that was the raffia sunhat of 2009? I probably have at least five or six posts about that, which I won't bother linking to here because we don't really need to relive that. Yargh!

Well I finally decided that purchasing a crochet raffia sunhat instead of making one was probably the best way to go. And here it is! I got it at National Jean Co. It's a very cool shell stitch, that would probably not be that hard to make... if you had 4,000 years, hands of steel, and a full skein of raffia instead of 10,000 pieces of 2 ft long raffia leaves that you have to tie together every two stitches.
I wore it for the first time picnicking in Central Park this weekend with some friends. Hahaha did anyone ever see The Jerk with Steve Martin? You know those glasses with nobs he invents that make everyone go cross-eyed? I felt like I was going wall-eyed with these horse blinders on either side of my head! It does look cute though. Waaay cuter than whatever the heck I was making last year! Also my friends look cute too... even without crocheted sunhats!

Wedding Season: Part One

So crochet is still going to be happening, but things have been sooo busy the past few months! Weddings are especially busy when you are in them! Weekends of planning, bridal showers, and bachlorette parties do not leave much time for crafting.

Just wanted to do a little check in to let you know Teabeans is not shut down permanently! Below are some of my favorite pics from Wedding Season: Part One.

Wedding #1: My sister, Molly
After the ceremony
Gettysburg, PA
Wedding #2: One of my best friends, Megan
Dancing with Iron Martin
Mechanicsburg, PA
Wedding #3: My cousin, Ben
During his Best Man's toast
Bells, Texas

It's been a beautiful, ultra-fun wedding season! I can't wait for Part Two, starting in August. Until then I am going to continue spending my time bike riding, half marathon training, and hitting the beach! I also caved and bought a crocheted sun hat. I am sure I could have made one eventually... but buying one took way less time and effort. I will post it soon!

Chat soon!

Checking In

Hi!
Is this thing on?
Mom said she missed Teabeans today. Mindy may be getting me a super cool necklace for which I will repay her with a super cool crochet project.
Maybe I should think about making a bathing suit again? Or that straw summer hat? Figuring the gauge on that was murder!
My favorite hook resurfaced when Iron Martin and I pulled out the pull out couch to watch a movie. Watching a movie on a pull out couch is waaaaay more relaxing than just sitting on it like a couch, believe that.
Just wanted to say hi. I still have a leaf headband for sale on Etsy. I have 3 slouchy hats if anyone wants me to set up an Etsy transaction. You pick the price, and they are yours.

No News is a Snooze

I really haven't been crocheting lately. I posted a leaf headband on my Etsy shop, but no one buys anything off that anyways... ha! Kind of losing my mojo for crochet. Giving away a few dresses I made (if Iron Martin will let me).

Anyways, sorry to anyone out there who is still checking my blog! If you want that green hat I made, let me know; and I can send it to you - $20. I have a lot of things going on and not much inspiration for crochet. I like making things to be creative and sharing it on my blog. Unfortunately I just can't make all the things that people ask of me, and it kind of killed my interest. Did you know that the EASIEST hat that I can make takes me over three hours? Crochet can be really hard and time consuming.

Anywho... thanks for reading, but I can't promise anything new for a while. Hope you all have a great spring & summer!!!

xoxo
