Beanies for Your Boy's Bean

Just more of TeaBeans-brand wares crossing state lines. Here we have the infamous Brucifer modelling an older beanie with his very own Lady Kate:

I can do a way better beanie than that one now for Brucifer, and I will. It's just goin cost me two beanies to Iron Martin. I hope he likes electric pink! Hehe, just kidding, hottie. I know you like lavender.

Amazing Cable Hat

Good evening, everybody! I had a special request for a hat recently. My friend Sheetal had trouble with her hats because she needed them to cover her ears, but then the hat was always covering her eyes. She also requested a smaller flower for the side. I came across this amazing hat pattern online, and I emailed it to myself with the subject: amazing cable hat. I did not think it was possible to do this pattern with crochet! I love braided cable, but I was convinced it was a knit-only.

I finished with hdc in blo. In order to keep the hat covering the ears but not the eyes (without making ear-flaps), I split the end of the hat and sewed the flaps up. To be honest, I am not really sure how I handled the split. Maybe I added stitches? All I know is that this awesome hat covers the ears but not the eyes! Mission accomplished. I decided not to add the flower because I thought the hat had a lot of detail. I am still waiting to hear back from my friend, but believe this: you will hear about it if I do.

Green Berets

Hi! I just finished an adorable new beret. I saw an ad in Nylon magazine for a Brixton beret, and I knew I could make one like it. All I had was torn-out ad to go by, so I think it came out pretty good! Here is the ad:
Yes I know I am a copycap...HA, get it?! But why pay $30 for the hat (here), when I could make one myself for $5 in my favorite, favorite color of all time? I love making something that looks just like what you find in stores and not necesarily like a homemade handicraft.

Later when I found the hat for sale online, I could see close up that my stitches were quite off; but I still think it looks pretty close! The cap part is rounds of dc-tc-dc cluster, ch 5, dc-tc cluster, ch 1. The rim is 3 rows of hdc in blo, and the final edge is a row of slst-dc-tc-dc repeats.

Emily Brimmed Hat

Yey! After repeated threats and harrasment, Emily has finally sent me pics of the hat I made for her! As one of my number one blognob followers, I have to shout out my love for her & her support! She requested the Redd Up Yer Head hat in a purple/pink color. If anyone is ever down for a TeaBeans original, feel free to request; but unfortunately since neither yarn nor money grow on trees, I do ask that you pay for the cost of yarn and shipping and send a pic!
