Wedding Season: Part One

So crochet is still going to be happening, but things have been sooo busy the past few months! Weddings are especially busy when you are in them! Weekends of planning, bridal showers, and bachlorette parties do not leave much time for crafting.

Just wanted to do a little check in to let you know Teabeans is not shut down permanently! Below are some of my favorite pics from Wedding Season: Part One.

Wedding #1: My sister, Molly
After the ceremony
Gettysburg, PA
Wedding #2: One of my best friends, Megan
Dancing with Iron Martin
Mechanicsburg, PA
Wedding #3: My cousin, Ben
During his Best Man's toast
Bells, Texas

It's been a beautiful, ultra-fun wedding season! I can't wait for Part Two, starting in August. Until then I am going to continue spending my time bike riding, half marathon training, and hitting the beach! I also caved and bought a crocheted sun hat. I am sure I could have made one eventually... but buying one took way less time and effort. I will post it soon!

Chat soon!

Checking In

Hi!
Is this thing on?
Mom said she missed Teabeans today. Mindy may be getting me a super cool necklace for which I will repay her with a super cool crochet project.
Maybe I should think about making a bathing suit again? Or that straw summer hat? Figuring the gauge on that was murder!
My favorite hook resurfaced when Iron Martin and I pulled out the pull out couch to watch a movie. Watching a movie on a pull out couch is waaaaay more relaxing than just sitting on it like a couch, believe that.
Just wanted to say hi. I still have a leaf headband for sale on Etsy. I have 3 slouchy hats if anyone wants me to set up an Etsy transaction. You pick the price, and they are yours.
Tatattoo!

No News is a Snooze

I really haven't been crocheting lately. I posted a leaf headband on my Etsy shop, but no one buys anything off that anyways... ha! Kind of losing my mojo for crochet. Giving away a few dresses I made (if Iron Martin will let me).

Anyways, sorry to anyone out there who is still checking my blog! If you want that green hat I made, let me know; and I can send it to you - $20. I have a lot of things going on and not much inspiration for crochet. I like making things to be creative and sharing it on my blog. Unfortunately I just can't make all the things that people ask of me, and it kind of killed my interest. Did you know that the EASIEST hat that I can make takes me over three hours? Crochet can be really hard and time consuming.

Anywho... thanks for reading, but I can't promise anything new for a while. Hope you all have a great spring & summer!!!

Is this thing on?!

Sooo... does anyone read this thing anymore?! Things have been crazy busy for Katiebeans the past 3 weeks! First was the snowy weekend in Lancaster. Next was the beach weekend. (Iron Martin in Teabeans, pictured above.) Finally, I went to Pittsburgh for my sister's bridal shower!

The moral of the story is, I have been far too busy to crochet and blog! Plus, I have been able to run with out (major) issues with my injured foot on the treadmill so I am really trying to build up my endurance again, which takes up a lot of time during the week.

Long story boring, I am hoping to post my latest hat on Etsy and to make a few little things this week. Oh, also, I just got a new Macbook, so I am trying to figure that out.

Until then, I will leave you with my fabulous sparkler skills from winter beach trip 2010! Can you tell what it is??? (Hint: it's a heart)

Road Trip!!!

Tomorrow we are off to the beach! It's a winter tradition! Below are some pics from last year of Iron Martin & Katiebeans in our Teabeans hats at the beach.
Hope you have a good long weekend!

Sneak Peak: New Slouchie Beanie

I have a new slouchie beanie that is almost ready for sale in my Etsy shop! Here is a sneak peak:
I really love how this slouchie beanie came out. It is pretty much the only hat I wear lately, so I thought I would make one for sale since I would definitely buy it! The pattern is different, but I used the same yarn and made it the same length. This is more of a summer/CA hat. Look for it on ShopTeabeans.Etsy.com in the next couple of days!

The Arrival: Rivendell

The Evenstar Criss-Cross Hat has made its way to Rivendell! Check out these great pics of Arwen modeling it! Side note: I cannot keep up with this girl's many blogs so I just keep linking randomly to ones that strike my fancy. I figure we can all use the link juice, eh?
Dang, is she a babe or what! I was embarrassed of the pic I put up of myself in this hat after I got these. She is 4,000x cuter! I really like how these pics showcase the slst I added at the edge of the brim's ribbing. I thought it was a good touch, and the payoff is in these pics! I also really like how her cuteness makes the hat look nicer. If she didn't live in an Elven outpost in Middle-earth, I would have her model all of my projects! (Have I taken this LotR thing too far yet??)
I will leave you with one closing thought: according to Iron Martin, besides my amazing "fake puking" performances, my impression of Smigel freaks him out more than anything. I choose to take this as a compliment to my acting skills. Also, is it a bad thing that I do more than one thing to utterly freak my boyfriend out?
