Projects Galore

Hi kids! I have many many projects going on. I can't wait to inundate you soon. This week is going to be busy though so I don't know how much posting I can do. I do know I have a closet full of sad projects like this one below!
Hahaha!
Funny comics here.
Ps. Don't forget... that comic above is knitting. I crochet. There will be a quiz on this so pay attention!

Why My Posts are so Infrequent

Haha, indeed. Crafting takes forevs!

Reminder: I do not knit. I crochet. This comic is about knitting, hence the two needles. When you crochet, you use one hook. This has been a public service announcement for the Coalition to Punch You in the Face for Not Knowing the Difference.

Goldilocks

Stop me if you've heard this one. It goes something like this: a blognobbing, crochet girl with goldeny locks spends hours upon hours attempting to make a crocheted strawhat. The first hat was too small. The second hat was too big. But the THIRD hat was JUUUUUST right.
Getting close on the straw hat, boys & girls.

Additionally, this whole hat debacle/extravaganza has proven to me something that Natalie Dee suggested just the other day...Yeah... it rules for half-finshed strawhats too:
On that note, Iron Martin and Mr. Kitten just yelled to me it's bedtime.
Nighty night!

Also Applies to Crochet #2

BAHAHA! I mean... I can never figure out gauges; I guess that is why so many of my projects end in failure! One of the hazards of teaching yourself how to crochet.
More funny here.

Hilarious

This cartoon made me laugh out loud. I love Natalie Dee! I mean no disrespect to any of my wonderful friends or supernice strangers who have said that to me before about crochet. I just think this is HILARIOUS. The title of it is: "You are free to learn how to do stuff at any time." Amazing.

I had to censor part of this cartoon, but you can see it in all its raunchy glory at NatalieDee.com. Side note: very hard to type with a cat trying to mush and face-slam you!

He Makes Me Laugh

The other day, Iron Martin picked up my Crochet! Magazine, and, pointing to the advertisement on the back, said, "Is this what you do when I am not here?"

L-O-L:

I hope you think that is funny as I do! Haha, yes, I snuggle with my balls o yarn all the live long when he is not here.

Hope you all are having a lovely weekend! I had the best Saturday, and we are just getting warmed up! I want to posty post all about my flea market extravaganza, but I must remind myself this is a blog about crochet & crafting. :-) I am going to focus on my sunhat this upcoming week; I would love to have it for the beach!

Raffia Sunhat: Part 1

Please enjoy the fruits of my labors from last night. Here is the beginning of my raffia sunhat.

Here is the outside of the top. Lookin' nice,eh? Here is the underneath part. Who knew raffia comes in individual strands?! Oh, I guess I shoulda paid attention to the brochure last night, the part where it said raffia was FRONDS of PALM. I mean, I had to tie fronds together every 8 stitches. What the frond is up with that?!

Yeaaah. The perfect hat. Thanks for showing us how to wear it, Iron Martin.
Looks like I have quite a bit of cleaning up to do on the stray strands of palm frond front. Yeah, that sentence was jumbling my brain even as I thought it and tried to type it. I am too sleepy to work on this tonight, but it's actually coming along much better than I expected! The fronds don't tear and tie really tightly. Plus they smell really, really good! Nothing like the beauteous aroma of Raffia palm frond, eh?

I Would Rather Be Crocheting...

This is a NatalieDee comic of a crochet hook that I censored what the hook was saying. It was not appropriate for family-friendly blogging (meaning: only my family reads my blog).
This post is titled: "Only if I get to miscalulate the pattern for my size and give up before I am done." HAHA.
